Easter, part 3

The Great Easter Egg Hunt: once again Nana and Poppa (really just Nana) have gone crazy with eggs. Over 100 eggs and prizes for five kids (one 6 1/2 year old, two 3 1/2 year olds, a 2 year old, and an 18 month old) to find-with lots of help from aunts and uncles and moms and dads. We had to remind those hiding the eggs of the ages of the seekers, but they had too much fun themselves. One prize egg went missing (it was eventually found), and we hope that all of the candy filled eggs were found.
Davin needed some help to find this egg next to the aloe vera.
Eme kept rolling this egg back and forth through the pipe, she finally sat down on the retaining wall and waited for help.

There's one in the pomegranite bush

We're all done, we think, can we eat now? They each ended up with 12 prize eggs and 12-15 candy eggs. We encouraged aunts and uncles to help themselves to the kids' candy.

Easter, part 1

We do things a little differently here, for us Easter ends up coming in 3 parts.

  • Part 1: on the Saturday before Easter Sunday we do our baskets. The kids get candy, 1 or 2 toys and a book. They then spend the rest of the day playing nicely together-we hope.

  • Part 2: Easter Sunday we open the "special eggs". They are a set of 12 eggs that have an object and a scripture in them relating the story of the atonement through the resurrection of Christ.

  • Part 3: the Saturday after Easter is when Britney and the cousins (maybe Ryan-it depends on the tax deadline) come out for the big Easter egg hunt at Nana's and Poppa's (to be posted later)

Here are some pictures of our part 1:

How do you deal with stress?

I have had a rather stress filled time as of late. I've dealt with it by keeping busy, very busy. We've been to the zoo twice in the last 10 days. I've quilted the entirety of Davin's quilt. I read Sense and Sensability in 2 days. I've cleaned my house countless times. And I am running out of things that I can bring myself to do while I wait. I still have the binding to hand stitch on the quilt, and I have a backlog of scrapbooking, about 6 months worth. I guess I'll start on those next.
