We do things a little differently here, for us Easter ends up coming in 3 parts.
- Part 1: on the Saturday before Easter Sunday we do our baskets. The kids get candy, 1 or 2 toys and a book. They then spend the rest of the day playing nicely together-we hope.
- Part 2: Easter Sunday we open the "special eggs". They are a set of 12 eggs that have an object and a scripture in them relating the story of the atonement through the resurrection of Christ.
- Part 3: the Saturday after Easter is when Britney and the cousins (maybe Ryan-it depends on the tax deadline) come out for the big Easter egg hunt at Nana's and Poppa's (to be posted later)
Here are some pictures of our part 1:

I had no idea she was so blonde!!!
I like that you separate out the real Easter from the baskets.
I can't take credit, it was Eric's doing, sort of. He was so very against commercializing Easter, so we seperated them out and he now tolerates the baskets.
And Eme is more of a strawberry blond, lots of copper highlights.
