Vacation, finally

I have to give a "thank you" to our elected state legislature, who have FINALLY passed a budget. (I say finally, because session is, in theory, only supposed to last 100 days, begining Jan 2) The govenor signed it late Tuesday night, so no special session for the budget, it is really done. What that means for us: that we can go on vacation over the 4th of July up to Huntsville, Utah and escape this blistering heat (111 for today); that Eric will have early mornings and late nights to ensure that his appropriation reports are done (he had 7 to do) so we can go on our vacation; and that when we get back Eric will start flex time-working 9-9 hour days and then getting every-other Friday off. It means that I have something truely pleasant to look forward to, not just day after day after day of summer vacation. You should all rejoice in the fact that you can kick your kids out of the house to play, but for us, our bikes will go untouched until September when the temp drops back down to 100-105 (seriously, it will be hot until October) But for now, I look forward to sitting on the porch, reading a book, while the kids play outside. We'll share pictures when we get back.

Hooray for the legislature coming together to give my sister a vacation and a husband again!

Wow, I knew it was hot, but really so hot you can't go outside? Sorry, but don't ever expect me to move there, I just can't take that.

Can't wait to see you Saturday!

I am so glad you are released from h---. Enjoy Huntsville and your sister!! (If this comes out strangely, blame it on the Vicodin, my current drug of choice for the next couple of post surgery days. Hand is numb, tummy will be worked on Tuesday.)

Why do so many apparently sensible people want to live where the temperature is exceeded only by the sun and purgatory?

Love, Dad

Just returned from a Birthday bash in Las Vegas with Tiffany & Sherry. Now I know what TOO HOT TO GO OUTSIDE MEANS. Sher got us tickets for David Copperfield and it was an amazing show. Up $900.00 the first day, Down $600.00 the second, Up $320.00. Left Beaumont with $1500.00 Came home with $380.00. Lots of shopping, gambling, sightseeing, shows, and a good time was had by WE THREE. I say I am a Winner!!!!!!! We three gals made some great memories.

Oh yes, I am nearly through with Twilight. It was and is spell binding and I'll reserve judgement after I totally digest it.

I'll give Stephanie Meyers a Thumbs Up as an up and coming Author. She has an amazing talent for fiction writing and we've not heard the last of her.
