2 weeks and 12 walk-throughs later

Well, you know Eric and I, we think/research everything out so thoroughly before doing something, and then we jump in with both feet. The same has been true for our goal of buying a home. With the Arizona market still at the begining of its downward slide correction, and with interest rates falling, we began our search. We aren't in a hurry, and if we don't find the "right" house right away, that's okay. But in the last two weeks I have been through, or driven out to, a dozen houses. Most have been forclosure or short-sell homes (Part of Eric's job is to know about the fiscal impact that the housing slump is having on our economy, so he is privy to information weeks before the public. At a hearing 2 weeks ago, one of the state's leading economists testified that the housing market fell 9.5% last year, and was expected to fall ANOTHER 10% this year. So we are looking at homes that have already dropped their 20%.) Some have been in better shape than others, and some have been in better areas than others. It is such an exhausting thing, looking for the right house. I'll let you all know how it goes.

It is exhausting, and a lot of fun, too! You are taking such a big step and we are so happy for you.

It just seems so much easier through blogs because you can share photos, etc. I had no idea you were looking for a home! I hope you don't find one too soon! Just kidding, I wish you the best!
