My brother Bill and his wife Esmerelda blessed their new little girl the first weekend in August, so we made that our end of summer trip. A VERY long drive, in a very short time, with 4 kids, but oh, so worth it. First of all Chico was 20 degrees cooler than home-BONUS!! And so the kids played outside on the trampoline Bill set back up (thank you so much!)
Secondly, I got plenty of baby time with this cutie, she was such a fun little one! It's always fun to see how much Seguine comes out in each kid, and she is such a wonderful blend of both Bill and Es (she is BEAUTIFUL guys :)
I also got to spend some time (not enough) with these guys (well I always get Eric). But it's nice to see Dad, Bill, and Tom all together. Not to mention Es (it really was so lovely to get to know you better), Kennan, Austin, and my Mom. Plus, the man-child Austin can cook, seriously, that boy knows his way around a good steak :)
And after far, far, FAR, to short a time, we headed back home. On the way home, I caught a glimpse of one of my ABSOLUTE favorite places on earth. Yes, it from the back, but I would recognize Mount Diablo anywhere. I have hiked and camped that mountain so many times, I grew up seeing it out my bedroom window. Oh, how I've missed it!
Not to worry, next year for our 15 anniversary, I'll make sure it's part of my California tour.
