Cub Scout fishing

November's pack activity was fishing!  The leaders had someone from Fish and Game come in to talk about fishing in our area.  Mr & Mrs Fish were very informative, and super nice.

The following Saturday (which also happened to be the same weekend as Eric's and Aidan's separate campouts), I loaded the kids up at 6:50 for fishing at the Riparian Preserve.

We didn't catch anything during our two hours of too early and too cold for a Saturday activity.  In fact only two people from our group caught fish.  However, we did spot an Ospry (of some sort) dive down into the water and catch some breakfast.  Which did make it all worth it!

Eme and Maddie got to cast and play with worms too :)

November 12 in 12

It looks like Eme forgot to do some homework last night.

Breakfast, looks like Davin has built a fortress of cereal boxes and milk, so it will be THAT kind of morning with him.

Temple!!

Costco was a real necessity.

And after two stores I deserved a Sonic.

My family will eat most of this food this week.

Homework time.

Also, three kids had eye appointments today.

The girls enjoying Dad's hammock.

More homework.

Dinnertime!!

And my personal enemy: laundry.

Veteran's Day=Rocket launches

We are always so grateful for the days off Eric gets, it's wonderful to be able to have extra time with him.  This year we celebrated and honored our veterans by shooting off rockets-lots of them.  We got together with some friends, invited some cousins, and had a great 2+hours of fun!

Jaidyn had lots of fun climbing the trees, often getting stuck.

I lucked out and caught both rockets in the same shot!

Random November pics...

Eric getting his dad's dutch oven re-seasoned and ready to use.

These two, they are going to kill me with their fashion sense.  We already butt-heads over what they can and cannot wear together.

The kids love their cousins, and love having a baby around to fight over.

Happy Halloween!!

Ah, Halloween, the day my kids dress up crazy (okay they do this most days) and go out and beg for candy.

Captain Rex

A pirate (his last year I hope)

A ballet kitty

And the Grimm Reeker (um, you mean Reaper? Yes)

Another year older = another year older

My birthday began with a wonderful session of PT!! What could be better, spending my morning being tortured and pushed to my physical limits only to end with ice and electrodes. It's a good thing I really love the people there :)

The nice lady at Krispy Kreme didn't believe I was 37, or that all that I wanted was their pumpkin donut.  So she wrote a nice note on my bag and gave me two donuts to boot!

Eric bought me (and assembled) a new bookshelf/entertainment center!!

Unfortunately it also meant wall mounting the tv (finally) and then dealing with a million cables.

But doesn't it look lovely! Now, just imagine it with two tall bookshelves next to it...they're coming next.

October 12 in 12

There are way more than 12 pics here, since it was Eme's baptism.  We started the day off with baked french toast and homemade syrup (or puffin toast as my kids like to call it).

Fixing hair before we need to leave.

Reading with Gramma while we're all getting ready.

Afterwards, she was such a sweet girl in her new dress (it's a cute ivory ruffle-y dress with gold spots)

It was really nice, even though it was a Stake baptism, Eme was the only one from our ward being baptized that Saturday.  So it felt more like just an intimate family babptism.

Aidan treated us all to "I am a Child of God"

Eric and the girl's enjoyed relaxing on the hammock.

We promised Eme a trip to Frost for gelato after her baptism. They loved it, so did my parents.

Saying goodbye to Grandpa, he had to catch a plane to some far-off exotic locale for work.

We ended the night by playing Uno.
