Now that we have a house, we can plant things in the ground. I have tried to grow (or keep alive) flowering shrubs in planter boxes for the past two years, but they either die, or else they don't produce flowers. I was so excited to see one of my two new hybiscus shrubs with these beautiful blooms on them. Now, if only my gardenia will bloom...

That is so pretty. Good luck with the gardenia--they smell so heavenly.
They should be bloomin soon, we have several buds and flowers on ours in the backyard right now. It's my favorite flower becuase it smells so good.
