Family Time

Last night we had our weekly fight that begins and ends with a prayer, FHE. Sometimes I wonder if our kids ever get anything out of it, but then they do these little things that let me know they do somehow, inconceivably, listen. Our lesson this week was on Nephi's family crossing the ocean, and how when they listened and obeyed, the Liahona worked, and when they didn't, the ship started to take on water. We played a silly little game (most of our FHE are game based), and we tried to keep our boat afloat with good choices, and not sink with bad choices. Davin surprised me today, the boy was quite crazy last night, and I was pretty sure FHE was totally lost on him. On our way home from school, Maddie dropped her toy without my noticing. It was Davin who had stopped to retrieve it. When I thanked him, he told me that making good choices to help, makes him happy and keeps his boat from sinking! I was a bit shocked, but I am grateful for these moments that remind me that I'm doing something right.

Just sitting down together weekly is an accomplishment! You are doing great things as Davin showed you. Keep it up, honey.
