I am so proud of Aidan! So much so, that I just had to write about it, he deserves it. Aidan is an amazing reader, he can fly through a 300 page book in an afternoon. And because of his prolific reading, he is also a good speller. He is super inquisitive, and he does well in science. However, his handwritting is, to put it nicely, less than stellar. His math skills are at grade level. I've told his teachers that given all the time in the world, Aidan is good in math, but he just can't do those timed math facts tests.
Aidan is like me, math is not intuitive at this age (despite my math degree, I struggled with math up until college), and forget about those timed tests. We have spent many long hours working on his math skills over the past two years. And after more than one frustrating homework session too. But Friday he came home with a 100% on his math test, he was one of only two kids to do so. Nice job Aidan!

I was always a love reading, hate math student, too. What is with those timed tests? I'm with you, Aidan - no good can come from them!
Caleb just took his first timed math tests this week. Blah.
Awesome job! Aidan is such a brilliant guy and a hard working scholar too.
Not too shabby yourself, either--good mom skills there.
