On Friday, June 4th, Eric turned 34 !!I gave Eric his presents on his birthday: a new watch (look, it's on the mantle!), a skin for his iTouch, and a homemade giftcard for $5 to amazon for new music. I gave his music "gift card" an expiration of Saturday night, along with some rather silly fine print. He had just over 24 hours to pick out some music, and he took almost the entire time. (If I hadn't given him a time limit, he may never have redeemed his card).
We celebrated Eric's birthday on Sunday by inviting family over for some cake and homemade ice cream. I made a cococut pound cake with cream cheese frosting, and we finally found the perfect ice cream base reciepe-so sweet but not too heavy.
We all had a lot of fun, and most of the cake got eaten :) Eric got some nice things, although if you look closely at this picture, it looks like his parents gave him an odd clothing set: a tie, swimsuit, and flip flops. All matching. We're assuming the intention wasn't for him to wear all three at the same time.
Eric's "big gift" from his parents: a Sawz-all! A tool whose express purpose is demolition. Nice. We've already got two projects that need this kind of work: sawing through drywall, nails, and metal trim. I can hardly wait for Eric to get going on those!
Thank you all for your birthday wishes! Eric had a great day.
