Davin is really into all things Egypt right now: book from the library, both fact and fiction, toys sets, pretend play, building pyramids w/ his legos, learning heiroglyphics, etc. And he's super excited because 1st grade has just started a unit on Egypt-oh is his teacher in for a whole slew of small knowledges about Egypt!
At Aidan's request, I bought Roman Meal bread this last time. Davin and I had the following conversation afterschool yesterday:
D: Mom, I don't really like Roman Meal bread.
M: (quite shocked) Oh, okay, I can buy both kinds, it's not a problem. (Eric and I prefer the other brand anyway)
D: Mom, can I tell you what I don't like about it? I like the way this bread tastes more than the other one, it's really good. And it doesn't have stuff on the top either.
M: Um, than what's the problem?
D: I don't like it because the Romans destroyed Egypt. Why couldn't they have just named it Egpyt Bread? That would have been better.
