Greek Olympics

Earlier this year the 6th grade studied all about Egypt and then did a huge series of projects at the end of the unit.  Aidan's favorite was his Lego pyramid he built, no surprise there.

Three-legged race
But when the kids finished up their unit on Greece/Greek mythology the teachers put on a mock Greek Olympics.  Complete with togas.
After a while many of the kids' togas fell off, which is just keeping with the spirit of the games I suppose.  Because as Aidan liked to remind me, they didn't wear anything under the togas.  And well, we all know what they wore while participating in the games...
Wheel-barrow race back
It was a good day, my station was under some shade trees (thank you Ms Cisterna!!)  And Aidan's toga held up really well, it was a sheet that had seen the end of it's days, so I cut it up, re-stitched it, and hemmed it.
Oh, and I had to wear a toga too.  Mine was yellow.  Another old sheet that had seen the end of it's days.  And I totally rocked it, just don't ask for picture to prove it :)
