Today, to celebrate our last day of winter break, the kids and I went to the AZ science center. We always have fun at the Science Center, but right now there is a special science of toys exhibit with lot of hands on stuff: tops, dominoes, boats in a wind tunnel, a mini-rollercoaster, and an erector set-type bridge to build over a 1 and 2 foot gap, to name a few. I have enjoyed teaching Aidan how to throw a top that will spin for almost a full minute. And Davin likes to see the dominoes tumble over each other and hit a bell.
Although, their favorite thing in the science center is one of the permenant features: a giant, rounded, funnel that you drop marbles down to simulate orbit. The boys spent 10-15 minutes rolling marbles and watching them spin down. I like to throw in some real science, even if they haven't a clue what I'm talking about, by telling them about Euiler's principles. Some parents look at me when I do this, but that's okay.

We went there a few years ago. It is a neat place.
That reminds me of dinner conversations that intimidated kids' friends. And they still go on. Anybody want to know about chairs??
