Too many projects

I have said before that my favorite project (for quilting, scrapbooking, needlework, reading, etc) is alwayd my next one. This can pose a problem of too many projects. I grew up with mom and her countless UFO's (unfinished objects), and I really don't want to have too many of those, not to mention I haven't room for any UFO's in my house. So, in order to keep myself from getting borded with a project, and thus behind completion, I have begun a new working strategy. I have been pretty good about my scrapbook, I usually get no further back than 4 months or so. However, after this summer, I got closer to 9-10 months back. And I have now been working on Davin's quilt for almost a year (it is a very complex paper-pieced project). So, in order to get things done, without hating what I am doing, I've set smaller goals for myself. I get one event scrapbooked (however many pages) and then I get out my sewing stuff and work on 4 more blocks for Davin's quilt (each 7-inch block takes about 1 hour-I said it was complex). When the blocks are done, I switch back to scrapbooking. It has been working, so far. And I am keeping myself from getting burned out by either project. I just finished Tom's wedding (keeping it to just 3 pages), and am about to start on the final 4 frogs (just 3 turtles to go-even more time intensive than the frogs). At this rate, I should be caught up on my scrapbook in another month or so, and Davin's quilt top will be done then too (once the frogs and turtles are done, I'll just have the top assembly to do).
