Happy Birthday

Happy 32nd Birthday to Eric (yes, it was last week, but we had cake and gifts on Sunday with his family) I got to try out my new cupcake cake pan finally-really all Eric cares about is what I've made (coconut pound cake with cream cheese frosting, topped with more coconut), not what it looks like. I love the new pan, so cute. Okay, enough about the cake, we had a pretty low key birthday. I made him one of his favorite dinners (turkey meatloaf, corn on the cob, fresh fruit), and for a special treat-raspberry sour cream ice cream (soooo very good). There wasn't much else that we did to celebrate, other than play Mario Kar on the wii- when we bought the wii it was for Mother's Day, Eric's b-day, Father's Day, our anniversary, and my b-day. It was a nice quiet evening.

Sunday we had his party with family. His mom made grilled salmon, I don't love him enough to deal with the fish smell too often so I am happy to pass the fish meals off to my mother-in-law. He got some radio stuff for his birthday-another antanea (we're up to 4 now, or is it 5?), a battery (the car kind), and a little black box thing that will charge the battery while using the radio but will automatically switch the radio to battery power in the event of power failure (okay, so I do think that last one is kind of neat-I'm such a nerd). Thankfully we have the wii, because he also got some more normal gifts-Link's crossbow training w/zapper, and Boom Blox (so much fun!). This inconspicuous black box it the nifty radio thing.
