More Project Updates

I've gotten more of the dining room windows done, and I am really pleased with how they look. I had already made the roman shades, I just finished the scarves for them. I still need to do the upper windows, but I've got too many ideas floating around my head about what to do there.

I also finished re-decorating my family room (a few weeks ago actually). It took me a few weeks to make the valences for my windows, I had to save up my JoAnn coupons for the gromments. Seriously, they would have cost the same amount as the fabric if not for the 40% off. After the fall and Christmas decorations were all neatly put away, I realized that my mantle looked too plain. With just $20 of new things to mix in with some old things, I am really pleased. I especially like my fake reed diffuser-a pretty bottle with regular bamboo skewers in it. The slipcovers really made a difference for our rather, ahem, well used couches. I've just got to make a few pillows to match the curtains. And I must thank my handy husband, for once again turning one of my brilliant ideas into reality, as we now have a "new" entertainment center out of our old one. Well done Eric, well done.

We've still got the task of dealing with our office, it's a HUGE mess maker. But we're not sure how to deal with it. So, for now, we'll just brainstorm

I love the dining room window! That looks amazing! I'll come to you for tips when I need to do windows one day; you've got some awesome ideas.

Great job, girl. So much better than when I KNITTED the drapes for our house in Tennessee!! That was crazy. When we moved, I sewed the panels together to make an afghan!

You did an awesome job! They look really great. How did you change your old entertainment center into a new one?

Britney- I had Eric use his sheet plywood guide and his jig saw to trim off the top 8 inches from the sides and center support of our old entertainment center. He then countersunk holes into the freshly cut sides to reuse the hardware to re-attatch the top. The $10 was for a sheet of plexi-glass to cut to size to replace the glass door covering the DVD player and stereo. He still wants to make a shelf to go where the old tv went, for our dvds, but who knows when that will happen :).

You never fail to amaze me--super nice job on all of it. *sigh* so not worth it to even start in a rental we'll be out of in a matter of months...

My blog said that you hadn't updated in 5 months! For some reason I didn't know you have updated so much. Anyways, I just had to say that your house looks nice! I love your curtains, and I think you may have inspired me! I have been trying to decide what to do with some windows of mine. It looks so good! You made them? That's so cool, I wish I could sew. But I love the look. Can't believe our babies are turning one already!!
