We are in the midst of that wonderful time when things are pleasant and time seems to move in that funny way, both languid and sped up. We haven't been doing anything grand or amazing lately (but when do we really?), just the normal things. So, I thought that I'd share some of the usual happenings that make up our normal daily routine.
Conversations with my children:
(I went to wake Aidan up this morning, we often leave their window cracked open, and this morning the cows were VERY stinky)
Me: Aidan, what have you boys been eating? It really stinks like a bunch of cows in here.
Aidan: Oh, that was daddy, he did that last night at bedtime.
Me: Oh, honey, I was just being silly, it really is the cows outside.
Me: Hi handsome.
Davin: Don't call me handsome, and Don't call me Davin.
Me: What should I call you then?
Davin: I am Mr Stinkey-Head.
Me: Okay, hi Mr. Stinkey-Head.
Eme likes to pretend call Gramma Seguine on her toy cell phone, she calls her several time a day in fact-I know, it doesn't bode well for our future teenager. This is her typical goodbye:
Eme: Okay, I love you too Gramma Seguine, bye. Mommy, Gramma Seguine says she loves you.
(After I talk to mom on the phone, I always let Eme and the others know that Gramma Seguine loves them)
Last Saturday we had the Elders over for dinner. Our conversations were continually interrupted by Eme's sweet little voice saying: "So, bishops..." And she wasn't given their full attention, she would repeat herself until she had it.
I am so annoyed with the birds outside. They ate four of our tomatoes! The injustice! I guess that we'll have to start picking them before they full ripen, it's the only way to save them. We tied strips of foil all over them to help, we'll see how that goes.
And last weekend, we replanted our garden. This time around we've got: 2 tomatoes (still going strong), a sweet bell pepper (transplant), snap peas, green beans and wax beans, carrots, 2 kinds of lettuce, spinach, pumpkins, zucchini, and cantelope. Not full doubled like we had wanted, but it is increased by about 33%. We'll work on that other 66% over the summer.

I love snippets of everyones' days.
Your garden sounds great!
Darn those birds - you should get to enjoy the fruits of you labor (literally), not them!
The first thing I'm going to do when I have a yard is plant a garden, so plan on me coming to you for tips one of these days.
What a great peek into your everyday lives. I love the conversations with kids - my 3-yr-old says the funniest things, and I am happy to hear that it will only get funnier as he gets older!
