My, the time does fly by...

Monday was President's Day, so with no school and amazing weather (low 70's), the kids and I decided to hit the zoo (along with everyone else in the Phoenix area). Despite the crowded parking lot, we were able to find a great spot in our usual 2nd choice area. Since the zoo is so big, it never seems too packed, even on a busy day. We had a great time, and spent way more time there than usual-almost 3 hours! We were all fully exhausted by the time we finished.

And because one day off this week wasn't enough, the kids had a half day on Wednesday too! Mom was laughing because here we are with so much time off this week, and back east they're loosing their holidays to make-up the snow days. Ahh, just one more reason to love Arizona this time of year (just don't ask me how I feel about living here in 6 months time).

And the planets must have aligned just right yesterday, because the kids were all just amazing. Usually a half day means an increase in the amount of time the kids have to annoy each other; however, this time was pleasantly different. The boys came home, ate lunch, and then while Maddie napped, Aidan, Davin, and Eme watched Star Wars Episode I. No fighting, just mutual agreement. After the show, they all played together with no fighting. They even let Maddie play with them, and still no fighting. It was great. If all of our half days were like this, I wouldn't mind them so much.

Awesome--what a little half-day miracle! Don't you love moments like that, when you remember how much you and they all love eachother, and think: "Hey, forever isn't a bad deal."

I love you and I wish I could go to the zoo with you. :(
