Pinewood Derby-year of the Bear

This was Aidan's second pinewood derby. He (and Eric) learned some things from last year, and were excited to get started on this year's car. As always, Eric let Aidan work the power tools, getting assistance when needed.

I made sure we used spray paint on the car, it's so much easier than hand painting. And since I didn't want to buy a full-sized can for just one car, it limited our color choices. Aidan went with the gold, good choice.

He had a good couple of runs: 3rd the first run, and second on each of his subsequent runs. Eric learned from last year and bought his own graphite tube, much cleaner and easier than using the communal ones.

Of course, Aidan had his usual cheering section.

And thankfully, this years' event only lasted an hour. NOT the 2.5-3 hours of last year. I wish I was joking. Aidan had a great time, and we learned a few more things for next year.
