This year we've got three at the same school, that won't happen again for another 2 years. It was an exciting morning, made even more exciting by the fact that I had physical therapy from 6:30 until 7:30. I put together all but the sandwiches in their lunches, leaving that and breakfast for Eric to handle.
I made it back in time to fix Eme's hair, I wasn't going to leave that to Eric-I doubt he'd have even brushed it out. The kids had all picked out their outfits weeks in advance, which made the getting dressed part go smoothly.
I walked the kids to school, as is our tradition, which was probably not the best idea for me 3 weeks post-op, even though the school is just under a half mile away. But I survived it anyway.
Once there, we fought our way through the teaming masses of parents. I gave everyone a hug and kiss at the gate, sent Aidan on (he's in 6th grade, I shouldn't have to walk him to his line), found Eme's line-dropped her off, found Davin's line-dropped him off, and made my way back to the front. I paused just long enough to give Eme one last encouraging smile, and Maddie and I headed home.
They all came home hot and tired afterschool to some cookies Maddie and I made them. It was a little odd just having Maddie around, but I think we'll enjoy our time together nicely.

Everyone looks so "Ready" for that famous FIRST DAY BACK. You and Maddie are going to miss them all but it's going to be a very special memory you are making. ENJOY!!!!!! Love 'N Stuffn to all.
