Eric turned 36 on Monday, there's just something wrong about that. His mom had fun telling him it's just 4 more years till 40. Um, thanks. We bought his "big" gift early: a new computer, it was both a need and a want. Nice how we roll our needed items into whatever upcoming gift-giving event we have: anniversaries, birthdays, Christmas, Valentine's Day.
Since Saturday was going to be occupied with Stake Conference meetings (leadership and adult session) that would leave Sunday afternoon and evening meeting free for us and for all of our friends, we decided it would be a great time to have friends over for dessert to celebrate. Of course there are no pictures, but we had a great evening with lots of people, and even more kids than we cared to count :)

For his actual birthday, Eric and I went out to dinner while Aidan watched the rest of the kids. And then we had some gifts for him and leftover desserts. The kids picked out a bunch of "stuff" for Eric, candy and treats that they knew he liked, and I threw in some much needed items for his upcoming scout high adventure trip next week.

The saddest part of Eric's turning 36, and being "4 years closer to 40?" MY birthday is in just 4 1/2 months, and then I will be the one who is "4 years closer to 40", and that's going to stink, big time.
