This was one of those moments that could never be caught on camera, everything happened so quickly, and if it was, the image would be almost unreal-too staged. Yesterday Davin and Eme were out in the back yard playing and blowing bubbles in the sun. I had come back in to get something and was on my way back out when Davin came in, so excited. He told me that he saw a lizard (not unusual) on the play pool, and that he got to touch it (not usual, they are fast), and it was so much fun. As he turned to go back outside, I saw it, there on his shoulder was the lizard he had found. Davin was wearing a longsleeved shirt, so he hadn't felt the 3-inch lizard climb up his arm and onto his back. I simultaneously whisked him outside and wished I could stop and get the camera (I didn't want to risk the lizard jumping off in the house). The moment we stepped back outside, the little lizard moved up onto Davin's neck, and he freaked out! There was a lot of movement from them both, but it ended with the lizard on the patio and Davin bending over to look at it again. He did try to touch it again, but the lizard was through playing and ran off into the grass and up the wall. Davin later told me that the lizard was scratchy and jumpy, but so much fun. When Eric got home last night, Davin couldn't get the story out fast enough. Davin is looking forward to finding the lizard again.

You are a great story-teller, and a great mom for funny little boys.
The story is the next best thing to a video. I'm glad he still likes lizards after that!
So funny! I can just imagine it. At least his first experience didn't end with the lizard long gone and a tail in his hand.
