With our temps now hitting 80 (we may drop back into the low 70's this weekend, but be back up into the mid-upper 70's thereafter), I figured it was time to get Eme some sandals. She loves to wear her brothers' flip-flops around the house, so we decided to find her a pair of her own. Target was a no-go, but Payless had a pair with a pink glittery strap and little metal flower. It was love at first step, she was so happy to have her very own pair of "flop-ops". Eme wore them out of the store, home, through lunch, down for (and through) her nap, around the house, to pick Aidan up from school, watching TV... She did take them off for dinner, but promptly put them on again afterwards. Eric took them off to get her ready for bed, and Eme immediately put them back on. And at bedtime, she even got out of bed, put them back on, and got back into bed. We did take them off of her, but only after she was sound asleep. And the first thing she did in the morning was find her "flop-ops", put them back on, and went back to bed for another half hour.
Yesterday she again wore her pretty new flop-ops everywhere (including down for her nap). However, by dinner she remembered that I bought her a new pair of sneakers as well (bogo at payless, the sneakers and sandals cost $13), and so she wore the new sneakers the rest of the evening-while carrying the flop-ops around the house with her. And the first thing she did when she woke up this morning was to put on her sneakers (and carry her flop-ops). I have to agree with my husband on this one, he knew there would be trouble when one of Eme's first clear words was "shoes".

This is great!!
Eric better get started building a shoe rack for her closet--she's going to need LOTS of storage, it sounds like. Well, that is if she ever puts them down.
Hey Lynn, I saw your blog link on Shauna Fuller's. I didn't know you had one! ...Girls and shoes, I don't know what it is! So cute, though!
Feel free to check out our blog also. www.thehansens2007.blogspot.com Do you mind if I add your link to mine? Good luck with your pregnancy! You look great!

So cute! Girls and shoes go so easily together...I can already see trouble with Carleigh! She loves her black Sunday shoes the best.
