Fun with cousins and dinosaurs!

Thursday we headed out the canyon to the Eccles Dinosaur Park in Ogden. We invited Julie and her brood to come with us. It gave her a much needed break from packing, and all of us time together. Thankfully, for the past several years we've been able to get together at least once a year. We've been coming up here for our summer vacation ever since we moved to Arizona. And Julie's come down to visit us several times over the past few years. But, sadly, this was to be our last time together here, Julie and her family are moving to PA for her to work on her PhD, so we made the most of the day.

Eric, as to be expected, scared half of the little kids. Inside there is an animatronic dinosaur scene: a mama triceratops, with her 3 babies, and a hungry T-Rex. The scene was "fenced off" with "high voltage" wires. Of course, Eric made sure each kid knew that the wires were "live", and then he grabbed them while making a zapping noise. It startled everyone, even Julie and myself (and I knew it was coming too), and made a few kids cry. It's always fun when Uncle Eric is around.

We spent some time wandering about inside, and then we headed outside to the park and the dinosaurs. I impressed Julie with my vast knowledge of dinosaurs, I knew quite a few of them by sight. Although, no one can top Julie on dino pronunciation, looks like those latin classes have paid off. It's a great place to visit, lots of stroller friendly trails, lots of green, and lots of dinosaurs. We spent 3 hours walking around and exploring, eating lunch and playing on the playgrounds, and just in general, soaking in our last day together in Utah. Thanks Julie for making the hour and a half drive up to see us.
